LTA Awards 2026 Presented by Lexus

The 2026 LTA Awards took place on Thursday 16th April at the National Tennis Centre, celebrating volunteers, venues and communities!

Multiple high-profile guests including Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester attended the prestigious event, with the ceremony hosted by LTA President Roy Colabawalla and LTA Head of Men’s Tennis and Lexus Great Britain Davis Cup Captain, Leon Smith.

Sussex enjoyed a highly successful evening at the 2026 LTA Awards, with several standout achievements to celebrate.

Among the winners were West Worthing Club, who claimed the Protect Where You Play award, a new category introduced for 2025. This award recognises a venue or initiative leading the way in tennis or padel. Huge congratulations to everyone at West Worthing for this fantastic achievement. On Earth Day, the 22nd April the LTA spotlighted The West Worthing Club on their website, showcasing the club’s day to day sustainability efforts and long-term infrastructure decisions. Ben Reeves from Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club was named Performance Coach of the Year – Elite Player. Ben has had an outstanding year, notably coaching Sonay Kartel, and this award is particularly special as it is decided by the LTA Performance Team. Congratulations to Ben on this well-deserved recognition.

There was further success for Sussex as Sonay Kartel was awarded Female Player of the Year, while Julian Cash picked up Doubles Player of the Year alongside his partner Lloyd Glasspool.

LTA Tennis Sussex Awards 2026

What a fantastic evening it was as the LTA Awards which took place on Saturday 7th February at the Amex Stadium, Brighton. Hosted for the second year running by Alex Hyman, the night celebrated excellence across the county, with 12 LTA Award winners and 22 Tennis Sussex Awards presented.

We were delighted to welcome Paul Barber, Deputy Chief Executive of Brighton & Hove Albion, who presented the Club of the Year award to Padel 4All Eastbourne – making history as the Sussex first padel club to win in this category.

It was also a pleasure to have Bridie Amos, LTA Vice President, to present the Cathie Sabin Volunteer of the Year Award to Emma-Louise “Pinky”, recognising her outstanding volunteering to the sport.

Other highlights of the evening included Steph Trill receiving the Robert Cushing Memorial Award, and Anne Clark being honoured with the Exceptional Contribution to Tennis Award.

One of the standout moments of the evening was Julian Cash being named Player of the Year, celebrating an incredible 2025 season. Guests were also treated to a special video produced by Alex Hyman, showcasing Julian’s remarkable achievements throughout the year. Adding to the occasion, Julian’s Wimbledon, Eastbourne and Queen’s doubles trophies were on display for everyone to admire.

Overall, it was a brilliant evening celebrating the incredible people, clubs and venues across Sussex. Thankyou to everyone who attended and Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

Excellence Award Winners!

Congratulations to keith Brown and John Morgan who were both names excellence awards recipients at the LTA awards. All excellence recipients are invited to a LTA major event during grass season in June. Huge well done to them both!
