Tennis Sussex Coach Grants

Tennis Sussex is pleased to offer a grant opportunity to support current and aspiring tennis coaches who are committed to developing a career in tennis and contributing to British Tennis.

Grants of £100 to £200 are available and must be used in conjunction with a Tennis Sussex LTA Registered Venue and a Sussex LTA Accredited Coach mentor.

Applications will be reviewed by representatives from the Tennis Sussex Office and Management Board.

Please note the following: –

• The Coach mentor needs be a L3/L4/L5 LTA accredited Coach & Venue are actively engaging with Tennis Sussex and/or the Tennis Sussex performance team. Coach & Venue keeps up to date with LTA programmes.
• Funding will be received after the applicant has completed the qualification/workshop and criteria.

Please make sure the application has sufficient information for the review panel to assess against the criteria. If successful in receiving a grant your invoice must be in by the stated deadline. If the deadline is not met, we cannot guarantee the coach grant.

Applicant:

• You are a school PE teacher/community sport Leader.
• You are a volunteer helpers/ Leader who wants to take an LTA coach qualification
• You are a current coach looking to further enhance your LTA coaching qualifications.
• A venue member/player who shows enthusiasm for tennis, wants to take up a full or part time LTA coach qualification following the LTA Coach Pathway in tennis, you have done a number of hours volunteering at your club, are a good role model to other members, show respect to all members.

Special Requirements/criteria:

Successful candidates receiving a Tennis Sussex grant will be expected to complete their course and criteria within the following guidelines:

• LTA Assistant (L1) 6 months from date of application for a Grant.
• LTA Tennis Instructor (L2) – 12 Months from date of application.
• LTA Tennis Coach (L3), Senior Coach or Senior Performance Coach (L4) within 24 Months of applying for the Grant.
• To help at County events, for example: County championships, County training (Minimum of 4 hours required)
• Provide articles to the County to show who it has helped and what they have achieved.
• L2- LTA Instructor and L3 LTA Coach will need to obtain/ maintain their LTA coach accreditation after the course when invoicing for grant.
• L1 -LTA Assistant will need to have a currant LTA  DBS when invoicing for grant.
• Applicant to send proof of successful completion of the course and bank details to claim the grant which will be paid by BACS into your account.

Tennis Sussex Grant

Tennis Sussex Grant is available for all levels of coaches, who would like to take up this opportunity to receive individual support.

The LTA invests in training mentors so that you can access world-class individualised support. Mentoring is available to any coach but most suited to experienced coaches because it goes beyond ‘off-the-shelf’ CPD opportunities and provides bespoke development that is tailored to your individual coaching needs.

Sussex have two LTA coach mentors – Rhys Hanger & Julie Salmon both with a wealth of knowledge.

Mentoring is open to all LTA Accredited coaches, and is a chance to:

• Reflect on where you are now.

• Set personalised development goals for the future.

• Work alongside one of more than 50 trained industry experts to help you achieve your aspirations

• Is there anything you want to develop personally or professionally?

• Is there something you need support with to take your business to the next level?
